Follow Dr. Dan as he takes you with him on an incredible 5 Day Intensive DYE STAIN Training where you get to watch Dr. Dan training and teaching toning ON-SITE! You’ll first be IN THE HOME of a customer of Marino Ramirez (and his brother Gus of 3 Brother’s Painting) in New Jersey and then IN THE SHOP with Brian Weese (of Weese Remodeling) in Maryland. You’ll be right there learning everything with them and learning from the *the Very Best!*
You’ll Learn:
PART I:
IN THE HOME: (with Marino Ramirez (with 3 Brother’s Painting In N.J.)
– Making the Sample for the customer
– Removing Doors and Drawers (properly)
– Masking,Taping & Prepping the cabinets & kitchen (properly)
– Sealing the dishes in so you don’t have to remove them (properly)
– Mixing and Making Toner (enough for the whole job)
– Preparing the Product for Spraying
– Preparing & Using the Equipment – How to
– When to use the Cup gun vs. the Excite Sprayer when toning
– Spraying (sealing first with) Clear and Looking for Wax
– Dealing with Wax issues (fish eyes or orange peel look)
– Spraying Toner (so you avoid the bounce lines)
– Learning Spraying techniques – back and forth with cup gun & excite

– Dealing with the customer
PART II
IN THE SHOP:* *(with Marino Ramirez (& brothers) in N.J. & then Brian
Weese with Weese Remodeling in Maryland)*
– Lots of Tricks of the trade throughout! Will make your job so much
easier!
– Sanders, sand paper, red scotch-brite, tack cloth, protecting the
freshly sprayed wood when flipping, taking the tape off the door & drawer
number when? (save’s time), bumpers, dealing with the customer after, etc.
– Laying out the shop; laying out the doors, proper line up
– Proper sanding technique
– Setting up the Equipment and Product (Mixing the flattening paste…)
– Spraying the seal coat; Dealing with Wax issues
– Spraying the toner (properly)
– When and how to spray the sides of each door
– Flipping the Doors
– Proper spraying technique using both cup gun and excite gun
